About AEGEE-Tenerife

AEGEE-Tenerife is a youth, non-profit, non-political, and non-religious civil association based in the Canary Islands. We are fully independent in our funding and are legally registered in the Canary Islands Association Registry.

Our name comes from the original French Association des États Généraux des Étudiants de l’Europe (AEGEE), and we are officially connected to AEGEE-Europe, also known as the European Students’ Forum, as signatories of its membership agreement.

OUR GOALS

According to our statutes, our mission is to:

  • Promote the European ideal: democracy, human rights, tolerance, and youth mobility through collaboration and participation.

  • Build stronger bonds of friendship, culture, economy, and understanding among young people in Europe.

  • Support social inclusion and the personal development of youth.

  • Encourage universities to take part in European student programs.

  • Strengthen youth participation in all aspects of life — social, academic, and cultural.

  • Promote language learning and non-formal education.

To achieve these goals, AEGEE-Tenerife organizes a wide variety of local and international activities: youth exchanges, cultural and language projects, educational workshops, meetings, talks, congresses, European mobility programs, and, of course, plenty of fun trips and events.
