🌍 Our Vision:
A Europe that is democratic, diverse, and without borders — one that is socially, economically, and politically integrated, and where young people actively shape its future.

✨ Our Mission:
AEGEE empowers students and young people to take an active role in society. We provide spaces for dialogue, intercultural learning, and personal growth — while also giving young people a voice in front of decision-makers. We bring Europe closer to its youth, and youth closer to Europe.
-
Cultural Exchange: We create opportunities for young people to meet, travel, and explore different cultures, breaking stereotypes and building respect, tolerance, and friendships across borders.
-
Personal Development & Non-Formal Education: Through training courses, workshops, and hands-on experiences, members gain valuable skills such as leadership, teamwork, and communication — skills that last a lifetime.
-
Thematic Projects: Our members design and run projects on today’s key challenges in Europe — from sustainability to minority rights — raising awareness and proposing solutions with a student perspective.
-
Advocacy & Policy: AEGEE represents the voice of European students to institutions. Through campaigns, lobbying, and participation in youth platforms, we make sure young people are heard at the European level.
-
Forum for Discussion: We provide spaces for debate and dialogue, whether in working groups, conferences, or our general assemblies (EBM & Agora).

AEGEE is a volunteer-based student network supported by the European Commission and the European Parliament. We also hold consultative status at the Council of Europe and the United Nations, and are active members of the European Youth Forum, collaborating with UNESCO and other international partners.
Key Elements of the Network:
-
Antennae: Our local branches. Each organizes at least one international event per year, plus regular local activities. There are around 250 antennae across Europe — from Moscow to London, Istanbul to Stockholm, Tallinn to the Canary Islands.
-
Agora: Our General Assembly, held twice a year, gathering 600–1000 members to decide on the future direction of AEGEE.
-
European Boards’ Meeting (EBM): Annual meeting of local board members and representatives to prepare proposals and discussions for the Agora.
-
Comité Directeur (CD): The European board, based in Brussels, responsible for representing AEGEE at the EU and Council of Europe level. Up to nine volunteers from different countries are elected to serve here.
-
Working Groups & Commissions: International teams that focus on specific topics (e.g., education policy, minorities, environment) or support the network with audits, membership, and legal matters.
-
Project Teams: Organizers of international projects, conferences, and thematic days across Europe.
